In January 2016 Cllr Moira Butt was made aware of the placing of a Promoting Independence Officer by Sutton Council to help residents become more independent, socialise, make friends and stay fit and healthy.
Moira met with the PI Officer and Wallington Wellbeing Group to take the idea into Carshalton Beeches, going from strength to strength after making residents aware of the aims. The newly-formed committee met regularly and launched the group on 23rd November 2016 with an 'open morning' at the Baptist Church. Over 25 Exhibitors attended from all Sutton's groups and services, including Queen Elizabeth Foundation and Towns Women's Guild and we gave out our first What’s on Calendar. Watch this space for our new calendar when current restrictions are lifted.
Today we have a committee from leaders of local groups,

Cllr Moira is proud to say that she holds the office of President with a wonderful team from the group as Officers, whom we cannot thank enough for all their ideas and helping to running fund-raising events, rather than just applying for grants, to assist our residents to become Happy & Healthy.
