The Old Rectory is a beautiful period house in the heart of the Carshalton Village Conservation Area and listed Grade II*. It was bought by Carshalton Urban District Council over 70 years ago, as a community asset.
A group of representatives from five local amenity groups (The Friends of Honeywood Museum, the Friends of the Carshalton Water Tower, the Friends of the Ecology Centre, Carshalton and District History and Archaeology Society and The Carshalton Society) have come together to keep the Old Rectory as a resource for local people.
Situated in Festival Walk, alongside Honeywood Museum.

Whitehall Historic House is an impressive feature at the heart of the picturesque village of Cheam. A landmark in the Cheam Village Conservation Area, with the distinct white weatherboarding, projecting upper storey, and sloping porch, the building stands out as something special. It’s Grade II* listing status from Historic England recognises it as just that, a rare survivor of domestic architecture in the top 5% of significant buildings in the country!
